Holiday house design at lake Balaton, 80 m2

A typical Balaton holiday house with retro and contemporary details. The task was to transform and modernize an existing building for a family with two children. The house has an ideal floor plan. Despite the small floor area, it was possible to create two apartments thanks to the sloping plot. The upper floor is the family’s living area, where everyone has a small but private bedroom. We designed a new bathroom, kitchen and living room layout. The most unique part of the house is the huge ‘TV window’ overlooking the garden. The lower living area serves as a tiny guest apartment, with its own entrance to the garden and bathroom. Our aim was to keep the lovable retro details of the house and mix them with contemporary and local materials and details.
