greenhabit is a restaurant based on a new concept: the main role is played by the colourful and vitamin-rich food and the interior design serves this as well. The restaurant premises were created on the site of a former restaurant. In the spirit of environmental consciousness we reused some elements and left in their earlier position the counter, the kitchen and the restrooms. The interior concept is based on natural materials, many plants, fresh and warm atmosphere, wooden and raw surfaces and details. The focus is on the beauty and texture of natural materials and of course on the food. As plants are important elements of this interior design concept we tried to find some highlighted placing for them. One of these situations is a reused wooden cladding attached to the wall where we designed horizontal flower boxes with running plants. The other large greenery is the huge hanging island close to the entrance. The counter is an accent element in the restaurant. Its material is small hand-made bricks stacked vertically. Behind it, the preparation area of the kitchen is open and the guests can see the fresh, natural ingredients and the preparation of the food itself. The show kitchen behind the counter is emphasized with its light colours and coverings, which is a nice contrast with the wooden and dark surfaces applied in the rest of the restaurant space. A custom-made bench runs along the wall on the opposite side of the counter, starting from the entrance. At the other half of the space a similar bench is turned 90 degrees to the glass facade thus creating a different seating situation. The materials of the furniture is mainly wooden with a steel structure. There are two huge social tables at the heart of the layout with natural stone tops. The general lighting is a black track spot lighting system that is placed on the lower plane of the dark ceiling. The decorative lighting is handcrafted concrete-effect pendants made from paper waste which matches the wall and the floor surfaces.
